one one one one one

It's 11/1/11! Woo-whee! Palindromic dates are somehow more special, aren't they? And we've got a whole slew of them coming up this month. More importantly this month there should be an explosion of fall color. Maybe it's a sign of my age that I am so enamored with colors that come with the changing of seasons. I can't stop looking at the falling golden leaves! Went hiking a couple of weeks ago to Gothic Basin and Foggy Lake in the North Cascades and wish I could have spent more time there taking pictures.



The hike was a fun one too, challenging and steep. You feel the burn in your quads for sure. The above picture is during the warm up stage of the hike still.


You get to this gully along the way, jump across the river, and more up and up...








Such a nice hike! One of my favorites to do now. One last parting glance...
